Take a stand and refuse to let retailers take over Tahnksgiving. I've always found Black Friday a fun and exciting way to pick up the Christmas gift items my kids were longing for at an awesome price. It's like a sporting event for moms, we spend the morning cooking/baking, afternoon cleaning and then pump in caffeine and a nap to get in line Blackfriday. As a shopper, I had no complaints about midnight on Friday, or even 10/11pm on Thanksgiving night knowing that even employees had at least some time with their loved ones. But 6am Thanksgiving day at Kmart? Without even closing for a few hours? 5pm at Toys R Us? I would rather miss the deals then miss time with family. And I feel terribly for many employees who do not want to lose family time to work (even if that means not getting extra/bonus pay). Take a stand, refuse to shop, show retailers we want our Thanksgiving back.
