Comments: Mechanism should be there that allows legal tax-paying immigrants to get their part of the stimulus by proving that they are legal.

Comments: Family of five here. My husband has an ITN. The rest of us are natural born citizens. As a result, we were disqualified completely as a family from receiving any funds, and we received 0. I work full time, my children are school age, and we all got 0. I think the IRS needs a system to give rebates to individuals, not to ding a group for the status of only one person.

Comments: If this was for US citizens, all US citizens should have recieved the rebate, regardless of their spouse's status.

Comments: I was born an American citizen, I have a valid SS#, I have no criminal record, and I pay my taxes. Why am I recieving unfair treatment from the US government for following the legal process of marrying a Canadian I can understand the need to require additional supportive information to qualify for the rebate, but the rebate should not be denied to me.

Comments: It is unbelievable and unethical to penalize those of us who are in law-abiding citizens who pay taxes and happened to be married to foreigners. Not having a social security number by April 15, does not mean that one is not forthcoming. If you have given the rebate to the military, then the rest of us are also owed that benefit. Some of us really need it!

Comments: I am currently residing in Tokyo. My wife and I file a joint return with the IRS. She has Taxpayer Identification Number. We have three kids, all U.S. citizens. Because my wife has no SS number, none of us receives a rebate.

Comments: Yes I am all for it is not right what the goverment is doing punishing their own citizens because they are married with a spouse that do not have a social security number. We work as hard as the other ones who are not married with a spouse that do have a social security number pay our taxes so why exclude us that is a discrimination and needs to be fixed.
