Reduction of South Carolina Property Tax by Fifty Percent
Given the state of the economy in recent years, many citizens in South Carolina are struggling to pay high property taxes each year in a fragile economy. Although the economy may be slowly improving in some areas, in spite of the many job losses, the retired returning to work, and those who are now considered under-employed; the percentage of property taxes in the state of South Carolina has steadily increased. The percentage paid must be adjusted with the changing economy. Citizens struggling financially should not be required to pay fifteen hundred dollars or more when they are not making at least this amount or four times the amount of property (land) taxes they are required to pay from their jobs. Take a stand and get our local and federal government to make this change.
