Rail Fares are set to increase AGAIN in early 2011 which puts extra strain on rail-users' wallets/purses. With increases of between 5.4 and 10.8% in some areas, average rail fares will be almost double what they were 15 years ago. I like many are also sick and tired that the rail network in this country is privatized, unlike many other EU countries; France's rail network for example, is subsidized by the Government making rail prices in France some of the cheapest in the world and the reliability of the network is so unbelievable it puts our rail system to shame. Our rail network is so unreliable that many users are often late for work or school and yet we still pay full price for a rubbish service where we hardly ever get a seat at peak times and are pushed and shoved onto a hot sweaty train like a tin of sardines. So lets get a petition going to stop the increase of rail fares on a network thats one of the worst and most unreliable in the world.
