As midwifery students, we are finding it difficult to find the 20 required women to follow in their pregnancies as part of our Continuity of Care Program by our graduation deadline. As a result of the sheer number of midwifery students at different universities across Australia, we are finding the women we ask for permission to follow during their pregnancies to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of students who are asking them. We do not think this is fair on the pregnant women themselves in what can be a very stressful and nerve-wracking time in their lives, neither fair on us as midwifery students to find so many CCE participants while undertaking a very heavy workload at university. We ask that you reconsider our requirements for graduation from our various Midwifery courses across Australia- for the midwifery students and for the expectant mothers.
