Hi,

I have asked Stockport Council to look into reducing the volume of traffic and the speed at which motorists are travelling at along Hillcourt Road, which is used by a large number of motorists as a through road.

I have witnessed some motorists travelling at ridiculous speeds along our road and someone, beit Adult, Child or animal are going to get seriously hurt or killed if something is not done about it. I personally have had 2 of my pets killed infront of my house in the last year, what if it's a child next....

The council have responded to my letter and require all of Hillcourt Road Residents/family & friends to be in agreement with this before they can take any further action and suggested a petition. Once they have received our petition and any comments, they then have something more concrete to take to the board of governers at their council meeting and hopefully consider ways of reducing the traffic & speed of road users. Speed bumps was one suggestion, but as you know this will cost the council £'s to install and the council would have to consider this very carefully before spending council money.

I am hoping that you, the resident's of the Hillcourt Road feel just as strongly about this as I do and support me in order to get something done about it.
