This petition is in regards to convincing senator Debbie Stabenow to create policy in Washington with regards to reducing food insecurity. The bill would involve a stockpile policy to be implemented by the federal government in which surplus food from farms would be purchased at market value with USDA funds and be maintained by each individual state. The stockpiles would then be promptly distributed to both government run organizations and non profit organizations such as Gleaner's Food Bank or Forgotten Harvest.
