Outsiders have no right to decide what is racist and what is allowable with Indian symbols. Those decisions can only be made by Indian people. The Clinton School Board must come to its senses and act to protect the civil rights of the minority culture, for in protecting the civil rights of Indian people, the Board goes on record as respecting civil rights for ALL people. While the right thing may not be the "popular" thing, it is still the RIGHT thing, and doing the right thing takes people of courage and integrity. |
