| 1004 | J.T. | SHIM | FL | US | I support the effort but not FULLY as is stated. Enforcement discretion should be exercised in cases where it may be more appropriate to run a red light than risk getting rear ended, when emergency vehicles may shortly be attempting to negotiate the same intersection and there is no room to pull over, when there is no intervening traffic, etc. etc. etc. |
| 1005 | William | Reynolds | FL | | This is a human life issue.
Before retiring to Orlando in 1996, we lived in Germany for 9 years. Red light cameras in the cities have been effective in bringing about a disciplined driving culture where speed is king on the autobahns. The fine is "stiff)and three time offenders can loose their driving privelege for one year. The German accident rate is less per capita than in the U.S. When the accident rate declines then everyone benefits. |
| 1006 | Leroy | Oliver | FL | US | A red light was added on Highway 50 west of Clermont a little over two years ago. This was in response to the tragic death of a South Lake HS student. The truck in which she was riding was hit broad side by a gravel truck as they turn to head for the high school. I recently used that "new" light to enter Highway 50 at that intersection and as I did I heard a horn blow. My reaction was to step on my brakes despite having the green light right of way. It turned out that the horn came from a another gravel truck which had decided not to stop at the red light and he was warning me to stay out of his way. Had I not stopped he would have hit me broad side at the same location as the death 2 years prior. What a tragedy it would have been had an inexperienced high school driver not stopped for this truck. There was no excuse for this blatant violation of the red light as the road is straight and flat for over a mile as you approach from that direction. He merely decided not to stop as is so often the case. This practice must be stopped before more innocent lives are needlessly lost. |

| 1011 | Joel | Smith | FL | US | My mother suffered brain damage from a red light runner. She lost her business and can not longer hold a job. |
| 1012 | Patricia | Pitts | FL | US | Per an article I recently read re red light running, our State Legislature only wants to charge $60 each for the first three red lights run. How spineless! I think the fine should be at least $200 per running. I see an average of 6-8 runnings each day to and from work. These red light runners have no respect for other people's safety, etc. |
| 1013 | Susan | Connell | FL | US | We need more cameras at intersections, stiffer fines and revoking driver's license for a year. In the event of death or injury, more jail time. It might help a little by sending a message to other's. |
| 1014 | Lisa | Dupuis | FL | US | I see people running r
ed lights every evening while driving home from work.I travel US hwy 27, south from Clermont, past I 4/ US 27..Again at US hwy 27 and 547 intersection. Here, it is the semi's going north that are the biggest offenders. That route, 27 is like a race track. |
| 1015 | Steve | Hanchey | FL | US | I am convinced that the cameras at intersections and a substantial fine (not $50.00, but $200.00 or higher) would be a deterent for running a light. |
| 1016 | Evelyn | Villalobos | | | Let's stop this non-sense now. Hit them in the pocket, were it really hurts. Please listen to your constituents. Thanks, EV |

Stricter laws, more observing, less tragedy. |

| 1026 | Terri | Behling | FL | US | Please support this bill. I've seen too many people run red lights and live off SR 70 where two people have lost their lives in the last 6 years to this senseless activity. |
| 1027 | Selena | Sifontes | FL | US | stop killing innocent people!!! |
| 1028 | Michelle | Baker | FL | US | PLEASE do something about red light runners. Not a single day goes by that I don't see them...not one. This needs to stop. |
| 1029 | Jeremy | Van Meter | FL | US | i strongly agree with what this bill offers and i think its the right thing to do. |
| 1030 | Jim | Lewis | CA | US | I am in favor of enforcing red light running, but NOT using cameras. I know that in my city the police is using a better alternative than cameras to stop red light running. I saw it on TV and a traffic officer confirmed it. It is dubbed "The MOLE" and it allows to confronts a violator with the traffic officer right after committing the violation. It is more efficient and has a bigger learning impact than cameras without creating collateral problems like increasing rear-end collisions (increasing injuries). |

| 1035 | Shari | Evans | FL | US | My biggest fear as I travel to work each day is being hit by a driver running a red light. I can usually watch at least 2 cars run the light at each intersection I come to. |

| 1037 | Anonymous | Anonymous | FL | US | My mother was killed last month by someone who ran a red light. In reading the research with such a high percentage of deaths occuring to red light runners why is nothing being done? Does it have to be one of your family members before you do something? |
