stuart belbin | as a comersial user of red diesel the increase of duty to my fuel costs will be too costley to carry on running.
Anonymous | I have a private boat, shared with two mates we have used it for fishing for years, I have seen the charter fishing fleet disappear over the years and this latest kick in the teeth will probably kill off quite a few more, and severely curtail boat use for everyone. Somebody is not listening, and he knows who he is, Goodbye Gordon.

Terry Batt | if this extra duty is imposed it will without doubt send my charter buissines of some 20 hard years into liquidation as diesel over the last few years hve risen out off all proportion. And all this because Europe have once again told oue spinless goverment what to do! Bring back Magie Thatcher at least she would have fought for all of us and told Europe wher to get off!!! and when all is said and done Europe will still have cheaper DIESEL than us so why dont we insist they have to pay the same rate as us and watch their industry go to the wall like our's.... yours very bittery-: Terry Batt (Charter Skipper)

michael pakey |
david francis | sounds like yet another rip off from the government problem is the people of this country put up with anything without protest and the government just laugh all the way to the bank, take the boat out to the med. Dave and sample the fishing, better weather and fairer government out there cheers Dave Francis
sean coyle |
jon mills | i think it is sick that they are putting the price up with out even looking into it properly and how many people this is really going to effect

| 33 | dave curtis | WHY? we are taxed throught out life even in death enough is enough our sport is not cheep as it is.
as a part owner in a private fishing boat with this unfair and unjust duty will we be able to afford to keep her!!!! (think il take up knitting ) and then some bright spark in the goverment will want extra tax on the wool we just can,t bloody win |

mr n m turner |
david friend |
steve roberts | As a sea angler, I am against this measure, which will increase costs (for no good reason) and will strangle some small businesses to extinction.
terry batt | HELP!!!! we cannot survive this increase in duty it will most certainly fininsh my charter bussines of some 20 years I just about make a living from the boat as things stand now, but having at least £550 a week tied up in extra duty it will make it impossible for me to carry on trading..... please God let some one see sence.

Anonymous | I think will should keep fuel duty low, We are an island and should not be dictated to from the people that live in Europe. The government get enough tax duty on petrol and road tax and should leave red Diesel alone.
Anonymous | Whatever next from the EU, don't they want us to fish our own waters. I have been boat fishing our coast for 45 years but I am afraid my next generation will not have the pleasure quite as often as I did with cost of a days fishing. This is after all a sport for all to enjoy not just the rich.
Gordon Arthur |
D H Thompson | Yet more tax to satisfy the UK,s & EU's insatiable appetite.
