This petition is to help people recognise animals' rights and to change the laws around how animals are dealt with prior to slaughter. Shocking cruelty and sadistic behaviour can be found in British abattoirs and Indonesian abattoirs alike. It is barbaric and HAS to come to an end. Even if you still eat meat, live export should be banned and the welfare of these animals should be thought of first as a main priority, and not the business. There is no real way to humanely kill anything, but if the animal was at least treated with proper respect, it would make a lot of people and animals much happier. Nothing should be subjected to such cruelty, and it has to stop, now. Animal Aid (check their website if you have the time) have started investigations into how animals in British abattoirs are treated. Horrible cruelty has been found in a few, and it needs to stop. After watching the footage obtained of the animal cruelty in Cheale meats ltd, my heart sank. It was like a weight, too heavy to lift. It hurts me and many others to see such cruel treatment to such innocent creatures. They have done nothing wrong to deserve heavy punches being landed in their faces, cigarette stubs being put out on their faces and improper stuns being made on them. Please, help make a difference and if live export cant be banned, help the installation of CCTV to be made a law in all abattoirs both family businesses and larger abattoirs.
