    Comments: This team has needed a rebuild since the pre-lockout team failed. But they've instead decided to have another go at it with the same core, and even though that core couldn't even make the playoffs, they've decided to try once again. It's a joke. Do what's right for the franchise and rebuild properly. No more quick fixes, band-aid solutions, Boyes for Nolan, Rask for Raycroft, etc. No more bonehead UFA contracts and no more caving in to the "OMG, what would we do without (insert any name in here, mostly McCabe, Sundin, and Tucker) , they are our heart and soul!!!" mentality. Handle this team as if you're actually a fan, and if you're not, sell the team to someone who will.

    Comments: Leafs have been spinning their wheels for the last 13 years. Not good enough to win it all and not bad enough to finish last and grab a true superstar to lead the way. Leafs' only impact player is Sundin and even his most loyal fans will admit that his best years are behind him. He can't do it alone and say what you want about anybody else on this team but the personnel necessary to win a championship is simply not there. A trade for a 1st line winger will not get them there either. Leafs need much more than that. They lack team speed, they lack team defense, they lack offensive depth, and they lack elite-level goaltending. Take a look at all Stanley Cup champions and all of them had that. I have been a diehard Leafs fan for about 30 years and I know when it's time to rebuild. It's been rebuilding time since the mid-90's when Dougie and Clark were traded away. They had a young Mats Sundin but instead of building around him, they surrounded him with stiffs like Jonas Hoglund and Anders Eriksson. If Leafs fans, media, ownership and management had been a little patient, guys like Jason Smith, Steve Sullivan, and Alyn McCauley would have developed wonderfully for this team and with the additions of Cujo/Belfour, Mogilny, Roberts, etc. this would have been a real contender. Instead, stupid trades were made because of impatience and look where it got the team. NOWHERE. Enough of this "let's win now" mentality because it is not going to happen! I have always supported Mats Sundin and always will. I am the first one to defend him against the critics but the reality is, Leafs right now are not good enough to win . . . with or without Sundin. So God bless his heart, give the man a chance to win a Stanley Cup somewhere else and let's get the real rebuilding process going here in Toronto. I would welcome 2-3 seasons in last place to potentially draft guys Angelo Esposito and/or John Tavares next year.
