Unrestricted subsidised travel has allowed older people and those with disabilities to play a full role in society, through working, learning, volunteering and socialising. Reading Borough Council's decision to cut back the hours that concessionary bus passes can be used (not before 9.30am or after 11pm) severely restricts users' ability to fully participate in professional and social life.
We the undersigned call on Reading Borough Council to reverse the restrictions placed on the use of concessionary bus passes introduced on the 1st of April 2011.
Reaching this point has been a long and draining climb. Knowing so many of you are feeling this same frustration keeps me moving forward even when the silence from the council feels heavy.

This is so unfair. I use my pass to get to work in the morning and now i am going to have to pay so much money just to keep my job. please reconsider.

Ridiculous decision. How are we supposed to get to hospital appointments or early shifts? They treat us like we are a burden when we just want to live our lives.
