This is to make sure that every elected official in the United States of America has to read and understand what laws they pass. You have to agree to an End User Liscence Agreement on every piece of software you download, right? Why not hold our legislators and executives to the same standard? This petition shall add an enacting clause to every piece of legislation passed that reads, as follows:
"I have read and understand, competently and in no uncertain terms, every word contained in this bill/act/law/edict/decree, and am aware of the ramifications thereof, under penalties of Treason, Reckless Endangerment, Gross Negligence, and Abuse of Process." Come on, they only took 45 minutes to read the Patriot act (intolerable act part deux). |
