Name: Diane Nizlek on Feb 18, 2013Comments: I live over the Bethel line but I hike regularly in the woods surrounding th Summit and I am horrified by the shearing off of the top of the ridge. And the retaining wall is a visual sore from the woods, and they left the base of the wall a MESS with debris and fallen trees and litter thrown over the wall from the building site. I can send photos if you like. This should never have happened! It is irresponsible on the part of the builder and the zoning and planning commission. The builder CAN put small evergreens in and they will fill in over the years, but need maintenance so deer do not chew them up.Flag

The ridge is the worst disregard for the beauty and nature that used to exists here on the hilltop. I support the petition for Toll Brothers to replace the trees and show respect to this area.Flag

Name: Laine Johnson on Feb 19, 2013Comments: One of the reasons I bought my home was the beautiful view I had of the ridges. I was very saddened to see it destroyed and thought, who in Bethel would let this happen. Being a working non 9-5 town meetings were never an option for me. Guess I paid the price. Toll Bros destroy beautiful things.Flag

Instead of machine guns, they intimidate small town officials with blackmail- that they will file a lawsuit on the town that will bankrupt them if they don't get their building permit. Officials just hand it over and hope they go away. Stand up to these money hungry open space destroyers!Flag

Name: Nancy F. Sudik on Feb 20, 2013Comments: I have lived in town for about 40 years and the same company line is used no matter who the chair of the planning and zoning commission is. It goes something like, - This was a learning experience and we'll know better next time.- But there never is a next time and the opinions of the folks who live in town are always secondary to those of the commissioners and the developers who hold the money. The site line is a travesty and although Ms. Rist is not offended, many of the rest of us are.Flag
