Comments: Please. By now it seems that some forward thinking is in order. Keep Bethel beautiful. Other towns can do it ; why can't we?

Comments: There is a point that real estate value's go down when the view is of nothing of value or enjoyment. When that happens the rest of the property price's go down because of it. As a cummuity we have to protect it. Also the government should be at the fore front

Comments: Protecting our ridgelines is important for the asthetics, economy, and ecological health of not only the immediate area, but for the entire State of Connecticut. Please make sure that uncaring developers are held accountable and re-tree the ridge!

Comments: Building high density housing on Ridgelines is a travesty. The natural sillouettes should be in the public trust. So far, thank God, the scenic traprock ridges of Connecticut and the Pioneer Valley have been spared. They are wonderful places to hike, and also high in biodiveristy, especially botanical. Connecticut is not so crowded tht it is necessary to build on the ridgetops. Construction on steep slopes also invariably threatens regulated wetland and watercourses resources. I am a consulting ecologist, with a specialty in botany, wetlands, and application reviews, so am informed in this area. Sigrun N. Gadwa MS, PWS www.caryaecological.com

Comments: We depend on trees to protect our aquifers, which protect our water quality and they hold the land together. If enough trees have been removed from this ridgeline, as it looks like they have, who's going to rebuild those houses once the land under them washes away, which it will. It's just a matter of time. How these things get to this nearly irreversible point is beyond me and beyond the comprehension of probably everyone who has signed this petition. This isn't just a local issue. This is an issue that affects everyone in the state and beyond. It is possible to protect the environment and allow for homes to be built to house our residents. It just takes a little thought.

Comments: This type of development is the type ruining what is beautiful about CT. Every town should ban such developments. If you think a beautiful view is one of hundreds of houses on hilltops, move to southern California!

Comments: Fighting to save our ecosystem for our children and hopefully children's children isn't something that we 'should' have to take such great steps to faciltate. And yet, both money and greed dictate that this is now a very necessary and daily part of our lives. What a shame.

Comments: This is critical to maintaining whats left of Bethel's natural beauty. If as a town we can't resist letting outside companies rape our open spaces, at least we can compel them to behave responsibly towards their neighbors, and help preserve the illusion of what made Bethel unique.
