On the 26th June, 2013, the class of ENGR242 were scheduled to write a final exam which consisted of 6 very lengthy calculation questions, having many parts each. These questions were worth 50% of the final grade. This petition indicates that we, the students of ENGR242, would like to request a re-evaluation of the final exam's marking criteria/scheme in order that the final grade better exemplifies our academic performance in the class. We have reason to believe that this final exam was not an accurate representation our performance during the academic course, and many students who were passing the course prior to taking the exam ended up failing the course. We urge the Department of Engineering and Computer Science and the Ombudsperson to kindly readjust the marking scheme and to present a grade adjustment mechanism that would better indicate a fair grade for all.
