And also to speak with parents who allow their underage kids to, as well as themselves, use the pool equipment (chairs and life ring) inappropriately.Flag

Name: Roberta Garcia on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I have stopped many kids coming from other neighborhoods to swim "propping open" the gate. I have also seen a family who moved into our neighborhood not to long ago (whose children are gang affiliated to "Los Suenos"- our neighborhood is being vandalized with graffitti) and the underage children (boys) are being brought in to the pool by an underage cousin. We need security and/or lifeguards. What are my dues paying for againFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I had to approach a group of young people, who were there w/out a parent, about the rap music playing on their portable stereo because of the "N word" and other swear words my kids were being exposed to. These kids were let in, and I don't know if they were residents. I also met a very nice Mom at the pool with kids who were playing nicely with my kids. She told me that she did not live here, but a resident/friend of her's told her how to use a library card to get through the gate. I didn't check out whether this actually works.Flag

Name: Larry Sauls on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I don't use the pool a lot, however if it is being used by non residents than either they need to pay a fee to use the pool such as the Ryans Crossing homeowners do or stop using our pool. We all know the culpert is the Gehann community. Perhaps a strong letter to the sales staff there would help a little. Just a thought.Flag

If the folks from other communities want a pool, they should consult their respective HOA's. Dick JeantetFlag

Name: Renee Baum on Jun 28, 2007Comments: We don't use the pool nearly as much as I would like to because of other people's unsupervised children. There are teenagers roughhousing that shouldn't be there, and a general lack of supervision of younger children by their parents. While I am there I feel responsible for everyone's safety, making it hard for me to enjoy that time with my own children. I don't feel like our pool is as safe as it should be, and would feel much better knowing that there was a life guard on duty to help enforce the rules and keep our kids safe.Flag

Name: Ismael And Erika Castillo on Jun 28, 2007Comments: 3410 Yogi Berra Way We have been there with kids/teenagers being unruly and opening the gates for anybody and everybody. Also, some parents leave their little children unattended in the baby pool and those kids can be mean and aggressive with the younger babies in there. We need something else to keep our pool a pleasant and safe place to be. Many times I've gone there and there are older children and young teens without adult accompanying them.Flag

Name: Michelle Delaney McRae on Jun 28, 2007Comments: Yes, we do need a security guard, policeman, or ADULT lifeguard during peak times. I have a 2 year old daughter and our last visit to the pool was not a pleasant one. While we were there, several teenage boys showed up, accompanied by one of their mothers. They proceeded to act rough in the deep section of the pool and were using loud profanity. When one of the other residents said something to the teenagers, they became louder, so he spoke to the mother there with them. She refused to take responsibility for the children and told the other resident he could just leave or call the cops if he didn't like how they were acting. I felt uncomfortable and left so I don't know the outcome of the situation. While the parents should take responsibility for their children and teach them proper behavior, that does not always happen. The pool should be a safe place for all the residents to enjoy and a security guard would help ensure that it is.Flag

Name: Crystal Renee Estrada on Jun 28, 2007Comments: My husband chased 3-4 teen girls out of the pool by explaining to them that it is a community pool. They were back within 15 minutes with teenage boys circling our culdesac in a car. We called the police to avoid vandalism etc. Officer Starr _____ handled the call and paid a visit to the house where the car was registered. Not fun to worry about your cars etc just because some people don't follow the rules. We've also had to confront older (unsupervised) kids (probably not residents) about rough housing around our children in the pool -- our kids are 1 and 5.Flag

Name: Mark Prindle on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I believe that there has been at least 1 death at the pool. In 2003 or 2004, an adult male drown in the pool, albeit a tragic mistake on his part by diving into the shallow pool, it was clear that a lifeguard on duty would have significantly improved his chances of survival. One lost life is too many and cannot possibly be justified by the board wanting to "save" money so that we can plant "pretty" flowers at the entrance every season!Flag

Name: Joanne Sanford on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I agree. I am tired of having to discipline other people's children. Last time I was at the pool, I had to tell 2 boys to take the pool furniture out of the water. I thought it would be funny to surf on them. The mother just sat there and sunbathed. I have seen children eating watermelon inside the pool and then adding some chile powder to it. I have seen big kids swimming with jeans on, etc....I am tired of paying my dues to see this going on in our neighborhood.Flag

Name: Wendy Faherty on Jun 28, 2007Comments: 651 Reggie Jackson Trail. Several weeks ago I was cursed at & called a name because I would not open the gate for a teenager. It was in the evening & there were several families & they heard it, as well as my own 4 children. There were a group of teenagers/children that were not supervised & they proceeded to use foul language the whole time they were there. Also, last summer (06) there were several occassions where unsupervised teens & older kids were rough housing all over the pool & my son was kicked in the face. When I asked them to please settle down or move to one side of the pool they were rude & continued roughhousing. We do not let our children talk/behave that way & should not be expected to take it from someone else's child. We enjoy the pool & make sure that our children are supervised at all times& that we have our pool key, but honestly, I'm tired of have to "police" the gate & watch other peoples' children. What if something were to happen to someone else's child & no one did anything I would appreciate either a lifeguard or security guard.Flag

Name: Deborah Washington on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I for one give 100% support to having a lifeguard at the pool. The few times I have been there, there has been unruly kids running around, jumping into the pool (sometimes barely missing others), and using the pool furniture to play with in the pool. It is not for those with smaller children as the older unruly ones have no regards for the little ones and will just run over them. The pool being the only amenity in the community, should be a well maintained, safe and enjoyable place where residents, and ONLY residents, can go for a safe, relaxed, fun time.Flag

Name: Carmen Galindo on Jun 28, 2007Comments: I hope that as board members that you would make the right chioice. We need a lifeguard or a security guard we have been at the pool and kids are rude and the parents are never there with them. We had an incident the other day and a teenage boy was bringing a van full of kids and he was using the f--- word and we told him to stop. He then called his mom and dad and uncles and they confronted us and wanted to know what he had said and what we had said to him. I don't even know if they were from our subdivision it could have been a bad situation but the kids did tell the parents that he was cusing. And after that a man came in with his dog and the dog was swimming in the pool with him. We feel that you all don't want to do anything so we are looking to buy somewhere else maybe in another subdivision they will care for the residents.Flag
