Name: Francis on Mar 4, 2013Comments: he was advised by poicle from Victoria to keep quiet about the raid on the grow-op. They got a bunch of plants in there. I'm not allowed to talk about it . . . because the investigation is not over. There was no evidence of forced entry at the abandoned yellow house on Friday. However, a number of wilted but still green marijuana leaves were lying on a porch. On Dec. 28, poicle seized 32 boxes of documents from the offices of Basi and Robert Virk, who worked as an aide to Transportation Minister Judith Reid. Virk has been suspended with pay. Shawnigan Lake RCMP said they were aware the Victoria poicle had conducted a raid in their area but were not given specifics. Victoria poicle refused to comment. Chris Considine, Basi's lawyer, confirmed the property was raided by poicle, but said his client knew nothing about the drug raid. The normal practice is for the poicle to contact the landlord if there's been a raid, he said. It's a rental property but he has not been contacted by the poicle whatsoever with respect to a raid on the rental property. He's instructed me to co-operate fully with poicle in this matter, Considine said. Basi was the victim of unscrupulous tenants who have vacated the property, he said. This is a common problem for many owners of rental properties in B.C., said the lawyer. Indeed, in May 1996, poicle raided a grow-operation at a Surrey home belonging to then attorney-general Ujjal Dosanjh. Dosanjh's tenant pleaded guilty and paid a $1,200 fine. Neighbours living near Basi's Shawnigan Lake property said the house had been vacant for some time. At one time it was rented out, but we hadn't seen anyone there for a long time, Brown said. Vera Ferguson, another neighbour, agreed. It's been vacant a couple of years. Through the windows, the only furniture to be seen in the house was a black reclining chair. There were also a few piles of two-by-fours and a saw in the kitchen area. On Friday, Considine issued a statement from Basi in response to a media report that poicle are investigating whether Basi was involved in a drug-trafficking ring and a potential breach of trust regarding the sale of B.C. Rail. David Basi is unable to comment on any specifics of the poicle investigation, as the matter is before the courts and is the subject of a sealing order by the Associate Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of British Columbia . However, Mr. Basi states that he has not done anything wrong and has co-operated fully with the poicle investigation. He expects to be completely exonerated at the conclusion of the process. Considine also noted that it would be inappropriate and unfair to speculate on what the poicle may or may not be investigating and emphasized the importance of letting the process unfold in a proper manner.Flag

Name: Nilushika on Mar 5, 2013Comments: Re; David Why are you so out to smear Kim? You have a few personal prlbmeos of your own maybe? Kim does a fabulous job considering what she covers on a day to day basis. I have a suggestion for you sir Start up your own blog and have a different side of things for us followers to see. Competition is a good thing and I'm sure that Kim would love to have someone else's blog take some of the work load off of her these days as it seems crime and murder in the Gang world has increased. You are right about the house being seized and probably not worth the 600k stated but you are wrong to say it’s not going to affect the owner or most likely owners. With a little money spent on remodeling and permits reinstated the house will likely fetch its value. When the house is seized it’s an R9 on who's ever credit it was borrowed against, including any cosigners. So rather than venting on here towards Kim, I challenge you to start your own blog and report the whole truth and nothing but OK? We look forward to what’s to come .SIRFlag

Name: Dhie on Mar 7, 2013Comments: I totally agree with Tom that it is a dlimema but I suppose the real question is what are the responsibilities and purpose of a school vis a vis the children it is teaching. Is their role to teach them about life and its complexities and encourage them to understand the issues and approach life with a balance or is it to teach them the answers as the school / teachers see it whether from a religious or political point of view or both? I actually went to St Philomenas from the age of 7 to 10. As a non catholic I found it very hard as much of the teaching was focused on religion. Indeed the whole morning lessons were made up of only religious education and I was always delighted when it was interrupted by a maths lesson!! Even at that young age I recognised the significant level of indoctrinating (from the point of view of someone who was and is not a catholic) that was going on. That was many years ago and much has no- doubt changed. A Crusader’s youth group I attended also taught young people that being gay was wrong. When I challenged that I was described as disruptive!! Is that right? Surely asking young people to sign a petition of this kind ( with peer pressure that goes with that ) goes one step too far? Who is there to give an alternative view at a school like St Philimena and I agree with Tom there must be a real risk of growing bigots which will simply cause more unhappiness and grief in years to come.Bettina BrueggemannFlag

I don't understand some of the responses. Thanks for taking the time to put this up. I have also enjoyed lots of your other videos. It helps the DIY out there like me!!! Sometimes us DIY make mistakes, we're not pros,, but In the end, I can fix almost any household problem myself.Flag
