We, the signatories of this petition, hereby express our strong preference for Senator Barack Obama to secure the Democratic nomination for President over Hillary Rodham Clinton. We are very pleased with Senator\'s Obama\'s message of hope, unity, and real change, and are very disappointed with and disgusted by Hillary Clinton\'s distortions and negative campaigning. We pledge that, should Senator John McCain receive the Republican nomination, and should Hillary Clinton obtain the Democratic nomination, we will support John McCain for the presidency of the United States, provided he continues to behave honorably and run an honorable campaign. We acknowledge that, while many of us do not agree with many of Senator John McCain\'s views and/or planned policies, drastic times call for drastic measures. It is time to send a message to both parties that honorable behavior will be rewarded, and that behavior and tactics which serve to diminish the democratic process will be punished in the one manner readily available to those who live in the democratic society that is the United States - with our votes, or lack thereof, on election day. We state by signing this petition that it is better to have a person of honor, though we may disagree with them, at the helm of our nation than one who will do or say whatever it takes to get elected, smearing people of character such as Senator Barack Obama in the process. We sincerely hope that Senator Obama prevails in his fight for the nomination. And, we might add, this is most certainly no \"false hope\", either.
