Being a born and raised resident of the state of Idaho, I petition for the raising of non resident fees for the small game licenses. As of right now a non resident can hunt small game; upland, waterfowl, rabbits, for $97.75. For those buying this license for waterfowl use only it works out to be $1.08 per day as our season is 106 days long. I firmly believe that our states revenue would increase with the increase in the fee for this license. I am going to put some numbers into perspective. It costs a resident $19.75 for a deer tag and a non resident $301.75 That is 15x more than a resident. Elk costs a resident $30.75 and non resident $416.75 This is 13x times more than a resident. Lets look back on the hunting license fees again. Resident $12.75 Non resident small game $97.75 This is only 7x more than a resident fee. The last example I will state is the fees to hunting waterfowl on the Fort hall Indian Reservation... Just for waterfowl you pay $475. A lot of people pay for this. I think that the non resident fee needs to be raised to a price of at least $200-300. People will continue to pay this price, building more revenue for the state and helping keep Idaho pristine. The signitures on this petition will show the support we have to raise the price of the non resident small game license.
