Statistics show that, “The U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics concluded that an African American male born in 2001 had a 32% chance of going to jail in his lifetime, while a Latino male has a 17% chance, and a white male only 6%.” Color, instead of legislation, sets the time a person is put in jail. There is a great disparity between the amount of people being put in jail, and this shows a flaw in our judicial system. Individuals should not be reprimanded of their race, they should instead be reprimanded by their actions and be disciplined accordingly. Acts of racism within the workforce will be charged as disturbing the peace and the convicts will be give hours or service or forced to pay a fine depending on the circumstances. Our petitions goal is to implement affirmative action in the work force. Our aim is to create policy that sets guidelines for all busnisses to integrate a variety of ethnicities in their company. There needs to be an equal opportunity for promotions and pay raises regardless of race. Through the suport of the people of the United States as well as our representatives we seek to change social norms by breaking the boundaries of race.
