Name: Anonymous on May 3, 2010Comments: Careful guys - who is behind this? AFA I assume, but it is not clear. This looks to me as a scam to vote out the teamsters. Fine, if that's what you want, but it is less than clear. Original RAH FA's, you might get DOH seniority if this goes through...Flag

Name: Anonymous on May 3, 2010Comments: We will not be intimated. We are asking for a say in our own union. Scare tactics will not work. I am willing to sign my name to my comments. The scare tactics posted here were posted anonymously. We want a voice. We want to be heard. This has nothing to do with AFA or another union. This is about OUR union. I encourage everyone to stand up and be heard. Cindy Hanna, IND #804402Flag

Name: Margaret Barker on May 3, 2010Comments: Margaret Barker 249018 STL/MKE/MCI CONSTITUTION of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters second paragraph of our PREAMBLE, In entering this new relationship, the local unions preserved their autonomy and identity and structured an International based upon the concept that the heart of the local is the membership and that the core of the International must be its locals. As the local unions must reflect the interests of their members, so too must the International Union be responsive to the needs of the locals which brought it into existence. The local unions and the International recognize that the interests of the membership are at the core of their relationship. The local unions and the International commit to serve the interests of the membership by maintaining a Union that is strong, democratic, and free of corruption. This Constitution recognizes and protects the autonomy, integrity, and identity of each indispensable part of this great Union—the members, the locals, and the International. It constitutes an agreement among equal partners who are united by and dedicated to the common goal of achieving social and economic justice for workers everywhere.Flag
