Oceania Ragnarok Online is MMORPG enjoyed by many, many people. All the work placed into the game is extremely appreciated. However, the Marriage System in oRO does not recognize or allow for Same-Sex Marriages. Many players are upset by this, considering how open and accepting people are of alternative lifestyles in today's society. The reason for this lack of homosexual equality is that Ragnarok Online is originally a Korean game. The Koreans viewed homosexual relationships as immoral, and not acceptable for the international version of the game. Shugo, an Oceana Ragnarok GM says: "OnGameNet has no problem with this (A Same-Sex Marriage System). However Ragnarok is a korean based game. In korea same sex marrage is not alloud and hence Gravity will not allow it. Sorry peoples." After talking with many other players who wish to be wed to their significant other, we feel that the Oceana Ragnarok Online Team should take the initiative. We would like them to recognize the fairness and benefits of a Same-Sex Marriage system, and for them appeal to Gravity to allow Same-Sex Marriage in the Oceania version of Ragnarok Online. The below signatures show that players of Ragnarok support Same-Sex Marriages, and would like to see a Same-Sex Marriage System introduced to Oceania Ragnarok Online. Coding a Same-Sex Marriage system would not be difficult, and would give the game a chance to show that it is inclusive of all people. I also believe that taking this step would lead to a lot of good publicity for the game, as well as perhaps an increase in popularity. We hope that you, the staff of Oceania Ragnarok Online, take this petition, and the interests of your players, into consideration. Thank you.
