Carol Bourdon19008Unless Petsmart is willing to have an agreement that they take back the rabbit at any time under any circumstances, not just 14 days, then the sale of rabbits would be a total act of irresponsibility. It's heartbreaking to think that all my years of rescue and adoptions for bunnies will be in vain if Petsmart proceeds with their "test" rabbit sales.

Ellen M. LaRocca19086PLEASE THINK RESCUE FIRST!!! There are plenty of animal rescue agencies with wonderful bunnies who need "furever" homes.....
Janet Keleher14622I have been a Petsmart customer for over 10 years. To start, it has always bothered me that birds and "pocket pets" were sold in your stores. I am very disheartened to hear your company is now going to be selling rabbits. These animals are often purchased as novelties, with the reality of their daily care becoming a reality they are frequently carelessly discarded of in some fashion. Why would your company make the choice to sell these animals when their overpopulation is already problematic in most communities. Most end up euthanized. I commend your company for it's policy of only offering dogs and cats for adoption through local rescues but, my hopes are you will broaden this policy to include rabbits, instead of offering them for sale from breeders for profit. Please consider this option, as it can only highten your company's reputation of compassion and being knowledgable of a overpopulation in regards to rabbits. I urge you to seek reputable rescues and shelters in your local area locations, as they would be more than delighted and anxious to have an opportunity to team up with your company to offer rabbits for adoption. Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
Tracy Casey20007This is completely irresponsible behavior that endangers the lives of the helpless animals that your franchise claims to protect. There are far too many homeless bunnies in foster programs thanks to the incredible generosity of foster "parents" around the country for a major corporation to actually consider making a profit on these tiny lives.

Karen97223Adopt a homeless animal. Don't buy or breed.
Krista North21230I will no longer shop at PetSmart and I will ask my friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, etc. to do the same. There are too many homeless rabbits in need of loving homes and too few people that are educated about proper rabbit care. PetSmart's actions are not only irresponsible, but cruel.
Stephanie M. Comptois48073Please do not sell rabbits at your stores. People need to be completely educated before they bring a rabbit into their homes. There are many organizations where they can be educated and adopt a rabbit that was bought and dumped when they learned reality, please do not add to this problem. Thank you for your time and consideration. Until the decision is made to not sell rabbits I will not shop in your stores.
Terry Kitchen48237Rabbits should not be sold in petsmart stores for the joy of a child to have a toy. Animals in a whole need the care adn attention they deserve and responsiblity is a must

Phyllis Buff20603Petsmart WILL NOT make any profit by selling bunnies for $99. Is that what they can understand???Profit??? Spaying/neutering rabbits by Petsmart (They have promised) will not absolve Petsmart of the fact that most of these little ones will eventually be dumped by their owners (caretakers).
Catherine Anderson20016I'm very much against PetSmart's decision to sell bunnies. I used to buy my pet supplies from PetSmart but will stop immediately and boycott buying from PetSmart until the decision to sell bunnies is terminated.
Gordon M. Lowe40204
Jean Eberly30066I urge PetSmart to not sell rabbits in their store but rather work with groups like the House Rabbit Society to promote pet adoptions of bunnies that have been dumped and are in need of a home. Too many people buy bunnies as pets for their kids on an impulse and do not realize the care involved. To sell rabbits at PetSmart is only going to make the problem of dumped rabbit worse.
Cathy Homer20005I am against Petsmart selling rabbits. They need to stick to their rescue operations, not create more problems for animals
Elaine Jackson21157Rabbits are living breathing beings and deserve the same humane respect and treatment as any other domesticated animal.

AnonymousAnonymousPet store owners do not care about bunnies after they leave their store, they only care about PROFIT. The profit comes with the expensive CAGES they sell to keep the rabbits in. These cages are NOT GOOD for the rabbit, ALL WIRE-BOTTOM CAGES WILL RUIN RABBITS FEET. They also do not inform customers that rabbits can be litterbox trained and should be spayed/neutered for the same reasons as dogs and cats are, and that they are NOT good pets for young children due to their delicate skeletal system and the fact that most rabbits HATE being picked up. Bunnies in pet stores are usually an impulse purchase AND END UP EUTHANIZED in shelters, especially at Easter. Please do not sell bunnies. There are enough of them on death row at shelters all over the country.
AnonymousAnonymousAs an active rabbit rescuer and advocate, I absolutely cannot support this effort to sell rabbits. We already see too many coming through shelters because of bad decisions, why make it easier for more? And how many will die as a result of this campaign? Spay/Neuter of very young dwarfs is likely to have a high death rate. NO WAY.
Marcia Hudson21044When I lived in Iowa, a neighbor got a pet rabbit for her son. When it became too much trouble to care for, they turned it loose. They thought that since we lived on a golf course, it would have lots of room to run and plenty of food. No so - domesticated rabbits cannot adapt to wild life. If they don't starve to death, they become prey to wild animals . . or cold or hot weather. Too many rabbits are dumped. We do not need the sale of more rabbits. if you want something to care for and incorporate into your family, go to a shelter. There you will find dogs, cats, and , yes, rabbits.
Linda Pizzi19038I received a response from Petsmart that explained how they plan to be responsible sellers. However, I feel that pet supply stores should NOT sell pets at all because it is an inherent conflict of interest.

AnonymousAnonymousI had always thought of Petsmart as "one of the good ones". It saddens me to find out that I was fooled by them. I wont be going near them or their vets until this is ended.

Isabella Pounds08057-3943I am part of a rabbit rescue and hold adoption events at your Mt. Laurel Store. If you sell bunnies, I will no longer support your store with purchases.
H. Lucido21202Please help the rabbits................
Cecilia Mejias19046Normally I was a loyal customer to Pet Smart spending $200 monthly for my pet supplies. I will now make other arrangements for all my pet needs. I'm very disappointed in this organization for their lack of foresight and consideration. The decision to add rabbits will not boost sales, only the number of rabbits needing to be euthanized when they don't sell. In fact they just lost a customer, . . .
