Carol Youngclaus01801My rabbits are my "furkids" -- every bit as much a part of our family as a dog or a cat would be. And I am heartbreakingly aware of how many rabbits are neglected or abandoned without ever being given a chance to show their intelligent, loving playfulness. To bring even *more* rabbits into the world, take them from their mothers before they're fully weaned, spay and neuter them by technicians (not even vets!) at an age when their bodies are still developing, and then sell them to people who have no idea of how to care for them -- this is horrifying! If these were kittens or puppies, there would be a tremendous outcry! Let's not make rabbits the "second class citizens" of the pet trade.

Janet Dempsey85027PLEASE, be different than Petco. Right now, I shop exclusively at Petsmart. I spend an average of $100/mo there (I have 1 dog and an aquarium). I will shop elsewhere for my supplies if Petsmart decides to sell rabbits. The reason is because it's the same thing as selling dogs or cats to me. I always felt that shopping at Petsmart was a good thing because of all the help they provide to animals. I will feel like I'm supporting a rabbit mill if this goes through.

lisa brennan98105There are MANY rabbits in shelters right now that need to be adopted and it is very unethical of PetSmart to start selling rabbits and add to the problem of homeless rabbits.

Emily Chang08840There are plenty of rabbits available for adoption, rabbits are a long term commitment and they shouldn't be available so instantly at a pet store.
Stephanie Kelly29505There is something different about buying a rabbit vs. adopting a rabbit. By adopting a rabbit, you get satisfaction that you are doing your part to help and truly change the life of a pet that desperately needs to be cared for and loved.
Pamela Wright30111I found my first rabbit on the street, literally, huddled against the curb. She was half-starved, terrified and profoundly anemic from the infestation of fleas and ticks. This beautiful creature had been dumped, most assuredly after having been purchased at a pet store. PetSmart's proprosal to sell rabbits is simply UNCONSCIONABLE!!! I have spent untold thousands at PetSmart over the years, but they will never get another thin dime from me! I'd rather pay exorbitant shipping rates than endorse this act of cruelty.

Annie Joyce18428Rabbits can be special, loving companions but they are not for everyone and should not be dangled in front of children as cute toys just to be thrown away when the attraction dades.
kassie allen77007what can this petsmart organization be thinking? please make your profits on selling the food, games, toys and nurtitionals as well as the services we like to purchase for our pets. rabbits and small mammals are some of the most vulnerable and deserve protections and concern. please do the right thing.

RIVVER PHOENIX89111As a proprietor, your store needs to take responsible measures to insure healthy and humane treatment of animals. I can only hope you are not doing this as a black market, fur trade for money making. EYE will be watching you. PROMISES

R Rfu_inle@hotmail.comThe house rabbit is the third most popular pet in the USA. Unfortunately, it is also the third most dumped animal in the USA Please Save the Rabbits!
Spring Lea Henry80910My bunny Max is one we bought at the State Fair. He was a surprise to us because we weren't intending to get a rabbit, but he just charmed us so well. The first thing we did the next day was set up an appointment to get him neutered to make darn sure that he would never add another bunny to the overpopulated world of domestic rabbits. After nearly two months, I can say that rabbits do NOT make an easy pet. They are complicated. If PetSmart chooses to sell them, this would both add to the overpopulation and put a lot of bunnies in a lot of peoples' hands who just aren't prepared to care for such a complex critter.
Christina Polans08512I love PetSmart for its responsible adoption policies, and hope they will not sell rabbits, who require more care than most people will give them. Please, PetSmart, don't harm your reputation by selling rabbits without a shelter support program.
NM Chobin08054For PetSmart and it's wonderful cat/dog adoption program...for them to sell rabbits defeats the purpose of what they promote. Animal Welfare. They should not be doing this. I am appalled.
