Eva Pohl55218Please don't add on to this misery by selling even more of those poor, misunderstood pets at Petsmart!
Linda Howard35213
Heinz Silz33327Stop selling more Rabbits in Petstores such as Petsmart!

Chris Brannon21769As a House Rabbit Society Educator and an adoption coordinator and foster home for the local shelter, I see too many rabbits in need of good homes all the time. I also see rabbits euthanized in the local shelter regularly. We, the rescuers, are already overwhelmed with the rabbits that are at present in the shelters. It is sad that Petsmart is contributing to this dismal situation, therefore I will rather mailorder or frequent other stores than spend one more penny at Petsmart.
Kit Jagoda/Thumpqua Rabbit Sanctuary99224As long as Petsmart is selling rabbits that you are producing for marketing I will no longer do business at your store, nor will I refer adopters of rescued rabbits to your store. Rabbits are the third most common animal found in shelters. By commercializing rabbits you are taking homes away from those who are seeking homes. You are turning rabbits into a commercial object and you are no longer an advocate for animals.
Patrice Pruitte29609I have volunteered at at Rabbit Sanctuary for over 16 years. We have to turn away hundreds of rabbits each year simply because we have no room for them, and I know that most rabbit rescue groups stay full. Why are you encouraging breeders to turn out more rabbits while there are thousands in rescue groups in need of a home? And thousands being euthanized at shelters. And just as many unwanted rabbits are being turned out into the wild, where they will certainly meet an untimely end. PetSmart needs to focus on adoption of rabbits--to help those that are already here on earth, not to add to the number. I will no longer shop at PetSmart and will discourage anyone from doing so.
Lynette Snell20705Shelters. like the one I volunteer are at, have seen a rapid increase in the number of rabbits being dumped or abandoned. Please do not add anymore of a burden to shelters filled to capacity with unwanted rabbits. The majority of rabbits you sell will end up there.
Debra Grossman85008Please do not adopt the ways of other cruel vendors like China. If you sell rabbits, I will no longer buy one product in your store. I have 4 dogs and you will lose my business in Phoenix, Arizona. Debra Grossman
Sharon Granoff18947Absolutely disgusting! People will actually put an innocent creature in harms way for the almighty dollar. I am ashamed to ever have been an employee of Petsmart.
Greg O'Sullivan48072I can and will remain a loyal Petsmart customer without you needing to sell baby rabbits. Hopefully you will reconsider.

AnonymousAnonymousI am boycotting petsmart for as long as they sell rabbits in any of their stores. We will be getting our pet supplies from other venues.
Emily Prince62208Please do not turn your back on rescued rabbits. These rabbits need and deserve your help. If PetSmart begins to sell rabbits they, knowingly will be contributing to the over population of rabbits in shelters and the increasing the number of euthanized rabbits overall. Rabbits are great pets, and there are thousands in shelters that are needing a good home and a chance. Please give them that chance. Thank you for your time, and your help.
Jolene Armstrong77586It is a really bad idea to sell rabbits, because there is a huge problem with overpopulation. Instead, would PetSmart be willing to allow show rabbits that various organizations have up for adoption? Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Patty99207For the sake of the many, many homeless bunnies-and the thousands that are being born daily-PLEASE do not sink to the bottom of the cesspool and become rabbit breeders/sellers yourselves. Surely you make more than enough money on sales of pet foods, supplies, grooming salons, veterinary clinics, obedience clinics, live fish & other aquatics, live rodents and small birds, and many other items to be able to keep your stores up & running. All of the responsible animal lovers/caretakers beg of you please DO NOT START SELLING RABBITS AT PETSMART!!!!!

Virginia Abreu de Paula39400 104I ask PetSmart to stop selling rabbits. They should make a partnership with the shelter community, for adoption, instead.
Thomas Dukich99223Perhaps there's a way to build in a "profit margin" for PetSmart to encourage adoption rather than buying new rabbits at the store. Haven't thought this through but hoping someone will work on it.
Debbie Richmond83856I hope to see your company lead the way toward a more compassionate, rather than commercial, attitude toward animals, including rabbits. Animals are a creature. Not a product.
Audra Busey97008I've ended up with 12 rabbits because of someone dumping unaltered rabbits who keep multiplying in our neighborhood. They are wonderful and deserve more attention but it gets to be too much to care for and too expensive and many are not being saved and dying horrible cruel deaths.

J. Benefield27513To say that I'm completely disgusted by your (PetsMart's) choice to sell rabbits is a HUGE understatement! It's a stab in the back to those who work tirelessly to slow the flow of bunnies being killed in shelters, abandoned along roads and parks... You brag about all the dogs and cats that are saved each year by your adoptions efforts. But what about the thousands and thousands of small animals that die in your stores, and as a result of being sold as spur of the moment purchases? What do you have to say to that? Do these animals not matter?? I challenge you to show me where the bar code lies on a hamster, guinea pig, rat, mouse, chinchilla, rabbit or bird! These animals are suffering in the back rooms of your stores, unseen, unwanted and hidden from the public. The amount of suffering that will be endured by the rabbits in those back rooms and in glass cages is simply unthinkable! The message that Petsmart sends out is that these small animals DO NOT MATTER! Their life is worth little more than the few dollars they bring in, and when these animals are sick or returned unwanted, they are dispossed of like a broken item in a retail store. Rabbits are sensitive, extremely intelligent, delicate animals that require above average knowledge, care and dedication. By choosing to sell rabbits in your stores, you are litterally sentencing bunnies through out America, to a fast track to death. Since rabbits are small, often they are euthanized by puncturing their heart with a needle. Can you imagine a more horrific way to die? Is this what you consider humane??? Rabbit overpopulation is a staggering problem. Because rabbits are not protected through the pet laws nor the farm laws, it leaves them wide open for severe abuse, over breeding, dog baiting, snake food, human food, and trim on coats. And because they are not protected, shelters are not required to report the specific numbers of rabbits being put to death each day, and year across this country! The statements that have been made about the effects of selling rabbits by PetsMart stores are a gross, demented lie! What do you plan to do with all those rabbits that are not bought, or worse yet brought back? The rabbits that PetsMart intends on selling are coming from the equuivalent of a puppy mill, only for rabbits and other small animals! The fact that Petsmart intends to have these baby bunnies mutilated by under aged spay and neuter surgery, supports further evidence that they are opperating in a purely ignorant, and severely cruel mannor in respect to the needs of small animals that are presented to the public. Until the folks in corporate PetsMart back down from their decision to sell rabbits in their stores, me and my family and friends will NOT step foot in your store! Nor will we purchase any of your PetsMart brand items being sold in any non pet selling store! Sincerely, Disgusted!

Kathleen Wilson29412Please don't add to an over population of rabbits. I have rescued two from neglectful situations, both pet store purchases. The bunny dump always begins 4-6 months after purchase when the novelty has worn off and the rabbit has bitten through the phone cord.

Paula Farbolin30076I thought PetSmart cared about animals. I don't understand this new policy, unless it really does just come down to money and the bottom line, and PetSmart really doesn't have the welfare of animals at heart. Very disappointing.

Kristie Wilhelmi27932Please stop selling the bunnies. There are way too many buns out there now looking for homes and you are just encouraging the breeders.
Katherine Finelli32696For every litter a femal rabbit has, this takes almost a year off of her life, by encouraging breeding, you not only place more rabbits in the animal shelters but shorten their lives as well
Cheri Melomet21117This is a very poor decision by corporate PetSmart. There are already too many rabbits and not enough homes. I expect that soon PetSmart will be selling puppies bred by back yard breeders to make more profit. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
