If a patient needs surgery in order to have a chance at a better quality of life such as hip surgery, etc., and a doctors says he is willing to do surgery if the cardiologist says ok then the cardiologist should also consider the patients right to have a better quality of life if the patient is willing to take the risk. No-one should have to remain in this state or condition as a bed patient who will never be able to walk or have the ability to transfer or weight bear; especially when this is against their wishes. If this was your Mother, dad, husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, or someone you loved would you want this kind of existence for them? I don't think anyone would especially if the doctor says that the hip fracture is fixable, and the doctor has handled difficult cases like this before. This is happening to my Mother Imogene Ward- she deserves the chance to walk again. If there are any compassionate doctors out there that would be willing to help her achieve this dream you may be our last hope...
