We the parents, community members, and students want good teachers. We want teachers who are invested in our community. We want teachers who want to be teachers in West Oakland. We want teachers who we can communicate with. We want teachers who are transparent. We want teachers who value children and parents. We want teachers who care about children. We want teachers who are fun and engaging. We want teachers who make children feel safe physically, mentally, and emotionally in class and school .We want teachers who have patience with children. We want teachers who believe it takes a village to teach children. Just like any other school in OUSD, we also believe West Oakland deserves to have quality and effective teachers who can discover, build, and develop students to be valuable contributing members of society and lead a successful life upon graduation of high school and or college.
