For more than 27 years, Quail Corners has been a cornerstone of shopping for the Charlotte area with a diverse mix of specialty shops, restaurants and retail businesses.
In September 2010, a significant, multi-million dollar plan was announced to redevelop Quail Corners since its original opening as the area has continued to experience tremendous growth. In 1979, Park Rd. was a 2-lane road and most of the surrounding subdivisions were in their infancy, fewer households within them. In addition to improving road access and other upgrades, the rezoning petition included new storefront facades, an outdoor dining plaza and the addition of out parcels for an ABC store, tire store, gas station and convenience store and fast food restaurant.
But through feedback received in various community meetings, the scope was dramatically reduced to only include a fast food restaurant. However, some neighbors are still strongly opposed.
The goals of this redevelopment is to improve the shopping experience, attract additional tenants and uses to support our existing tenants, provide loyal patrons and tenants with an updated look and feel and reintroduce the center with the vibrancy it possessed when it launched in 1984.

Seeing this level of support for the center where I have spent so many years of my life truly hits home. The momentum building gives me real hope that we can finally revitalize this place and bring back the energy it deserves.

Quail Corners looks so dated now. Keeping it stuck in the 80s isnt helping anybody. Let them upgrade the center and bring in some new businesses.

Ridiculous that people are complaining about a fast food spot. It is a shopping center not a park. Upgrade it already.

The neighbors opposed are just being difficult for no reason. Its a shopping center it should be updated.

Lived here 20 years and the place is falling apart. We need better options than what we have now.
