As a concerned parent, we hope to have your support in advocating for the QCH EARLY Childhood/UPK Center, they say that all good things must come to an end. But that does not make it easier to be informed that after 35 wonderful years the center will close its doors August 20, 2010 " The QCH Nursery/UPK program has provided a unique and nurturing foundation to many families (like ours) over the years, introducing thousands of children and family members to the world of learning, growth and friendship. Having served multiple generations of families is one of the greatest rewards to being a community-based program.  Although the QCH Early Childhood/UPK program has operated within a financial deficit for many years we as parents, would be facing a crisis if the program is not restored.  Losing a reliable, and established childcare provider such as the QCH Early Childhood Center and their staff, is devastating to our children, as well to the community.  Now more than ever, (WE) the community at large that has benefitted from the QCH Nursery/UPK program over the years need to come together.  We need to collectively express our feeling to restore the QCH Early Childhood /UPK program for the Fall 2010 - 2011 school year and further. These are hard times for many parents, who have made the financial commitment to send their beloved children to QCH Nursery/UPK, many like others in the community of whom still have a great need for childcare and a desire to restore this program.  I believe, if we put our efforts, thought and commitment to restore the program, a meeting with the Executive Director, Board Members and parents will prove beneficial for the QCH Early Childhood/UPK Program.  It has been said that It Takes A Village To Raise A Child. Early Childhood centers and UPK programs with settings like this are where it all begins.
