I got to meet Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond) in Tempe, Arizona last night (Nov. 5th, 2009) where she was promoting her new cookbook and personally signed the book of every single person in attendance. What a sweetheart! She says her CHICKEN PROJECT STALLED OUT, and she needs help persuading Marlboro Man to let her get chickens. Here are just a few reasons she needs chickens.

  1. Fresh eggs are delicious and do wonders for recipes.
  2. Hatch chicks, great homeschooling project!
  3. Chickens love leftovers so PW won't have to eat them all herself!
  4. If she gets Ameraucanas, she won't have to worry about Hyacinth scolding her if she forgets to dye Easter Eggs, because you'll have lovely naturally green, blue and olive tinted eggs, not to mention the beautiful brown eggs.
  5. Chickens are fun and cute! Lots of photo ops!
