There are strong concerns in the leadership that we currently have. The Principle is a very negative person not only to the student body but also to staff. The CSAP scores are way down where we are now on state watch. The Principle does not show equal judgement towards students. There is lableing and profiling going on. The kids have had almost if not all of their activities taken away. They have nothing to look forward to. When walking into the middle school you are quickly greated with a deep tension, there is no welcome feeling that you should as a parent receive. The students need to get involved with the school and have a positive outlook each day they go. If we can get a change in leadership; one with a positive attitude and not one with an intimidating or negative attitude then maybe our CSAP scores and attitudes will change drastically. There should be no labeling or judging towards any child's upbringing or the way the child is. Every child needs to look up and trust the teachers as well as the principle, they should not fear coming to them will result in consequences like having the police called on them. Platte Valley is a great school with a great student body and they desparately need a positive attitude and chance to succeed and enjoy the rest of their school years. Parents should be welcome to come in and check on their child and be able to talk to staff with out a negative or unwelcome attitude.  Let's make our school a positive one!

My kid dreads going to school every single day because of the atmosphere there. Constant negativity and threats solve nothing. We need someone who actually cares about these kids and wants to see them succeed instead of just belittling them at every turn.
