Comments: The release of Paris Hilton from jail is a mockery of the California justice system. I am convinced that someone was paid off to let her out of jail early. This only sends out the message that it is perfectly fine to break the law and violate your terms of probation, as long as you have enough money to buy your way out. It is events like these that make the United States a laughingstock around the world. I sincerely hope that I am never arrested in Los Angeles County, because I don't have the kind of money it would take to pay someone off to let me out, and I doubt that crying for two days would work either. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department, and Mr. Baca in particular, should be deeply ashamed of themselves.

Comments: I want to see Paris Hilton return back to jail, this is totally rediulous. The Jutice system is so messed up and this double standard crap is just bs. Everyone should be equal and have to serve the same punishment as anyother person in the society. No special prevelegdes should be given just because they are celebs. Its unfair to us Middle class citizens. If that would have been us we would have not been released. Its just complete bs.

Comments: Dear Sir, I could only hope to live in a world where EVERYONE behind bars could get the same preferential treatment as Ms. Hilton. There are people who are behind bars for minimal offenses who are waiting for medication to be dispensed. Some people on psychiatric meds have to wait weeks for their prescription to go through and in the meantime suffer greatly. It is abominable the way prisoners are treated. I've never been in prison and I don't blame Ms. Hilton for wanting to get out. But what's good for the goose is good for the gander. This was a gross miscarriage of justice. She should have done her time. Sincerely, S. Mui Oak Park, IL

Comments: I am shocked and disgusted that Paris was given preferential treatment and actually rewarded for her ridiculous behavior. This sets a horrible example for our youth and the Sheriff should be absolutely ashamed of himself and fired.

Comments: I am so sick and tired of the rich and famous getting preferential treatment. Granted, Paris didn't kill anyone, but she thumbed her nose at us, the general public, and the LAW. If any one of us "regular citizens" had a sentence to serve, there is NO way we'd get any kind of early release, or preferential treatment. If for nothing else, make an example of Paris - for all the Hollywood brats, and to show our young ones this is not REAL LIFE!

Comments: This is an utter disgrace. The LA County Sheriff should be ashamed of themselves. She could've killed someone when she drove drunk. How is being confined at home (which she won't be) going to teach that spoiled brat a lesson People are outraged and with good reason. This is unbelievable. Put her back in jail and make her do her time like others have to. She's nothing special; she's just a Hollywood tramp with a lot of money, big deal. Has she ever done anything productive in her life besides sleep with lot of men, get drunk and do drugs Think about it!

Comments: This is outrageous! How can Paris Hilton be allowed out for a mental condition when there are many in LA County that have the same issue She needs to do her time just like everyone else who commits a crime or doesn't hold up to their court sentence... this is outrageous! Put her back in jail to serve out her time as the judge sentenced her!

Comments: Paris Hilton and the LA Sheriff's office have made a mockery of our judicial system. The average John Doe does not get the special treatments that she has received..no, in fact, that are further forced to pay substantial fines, serve community service hours, report to probation officers, etc. The average John Doe would not be able to get away with the infarctions Ms. Hilton has. As she sits sipping her alcohol in a diamond-studded ankle monitor, she laughs at the fact she had to 'cry' pain and woe-is-me. Wonder how LA County Sheriff's office will handle further celebrity violations...any different Hmm maybe the the average John Doe should find themselves a good psychotherapist/analyst for early release -- make sense. More room for those serious offenders -- DUI drivers who do kill! SHAME ON YOU LA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE!!

But we knew that already, didn't we My respect for LASD and law enforcement in general has just fallen to sewer level.

Comments: She has already gotten preferential treatment when she was put into prison, and now she is going to claim that she is too upset, and there is a possibility of a nervous breakdown if she stays in prison for an additional 20 days.... Doesn't the judge realize that all prisoners are going to pull this now, and that this is going to put taxpayers into SUCH DEBT because they will all be struggling for appeals to be released for home prisoning Please put her back in jail and DEMAND that she continue with her sentence..... as minimal as it is.
