This petition has been set up by the members of facebook with regards to the current guidelines set out in the T&Cs of facebook groups. We the undersigned are asking that these terms and conditions be reviewed and altered accordingly so that genuine members of groups can use this facility for the intention it was created for instead of being subjected to the vile abuse that has become rife on groups. More and more groups are being set up in an attempt to remove the trolls yet they frequently become a target of these trolls themselves. Reports to facebook of attacks are proving to be pointless because even when an individual has their account banned they are free to set up a new account within minutes. A verification process would not allow them to do this so easily. Members are having their identities cloned along with their family, friends and their children even when their privacy settings are set to the highest level .These cloned profiles are then free to abuse people while genuine members reports are ignored. We ask that the following changes be taken into consideration in order to avoid this and put a stop to this abuse. 1 Only facebook users with a verified account should be allowed to create or participate in facebook groups. 2 Group creators and members of said groups should be automatically removed from all groups following a name change . And a new request to made to join said groups. 3 More warnings should be given to all members who abuse people and people who are proven to be continuously abusive should have their accounts banned , and a time limit should then be introduced before that individual is able to set up a new account 4. The facility to change a profile name should be removed. A member signs up with one name and should not be allowed to change that name to anything else.
