The city finally agreed to install the median barriers on Summerlin Parkway. My heart is heavy thinking of the families we lost to get here but I am relieved knowing this change will prevent future tragedy. We did what they said was impossible.

It is absolutely imperative that the City of Las Vegas install guardrails/ barriers up on the Summerlin Parkway. We, the citizens and visitors of Las Vegas, are extremely outraged that the safety of the Summerlin Parkway is being neglected and pushed aside. The guardrails/barriers must be installed to prevent cars from crossing over the center median and going into oncoming traffic. This is has happened too many times and too many lives have been lost. The rocks and little bushes in the middle of the parkway DO NOT STOP CARS FROM CROSSING THE MEDIAN and going into oncoming traffic. The city claims that the rocks and bushes in the median do prevent cars from crossing over the median, but as we have seen time and time again, THIS IS NOT TRUE. The guardrails were supposed to be installed in 2011, however it was pushed aside, once again. Money and aesthetics are not a good enough reason to neglect the safety of our citizens and visitors.

The people who have lost their lives on Summerlin Parkway were real people, not just news stories. They were sons and daughters, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, and best friends. Our families, who have lost our loved ones, have suffered an unfathomable loss. No more families need ever experience the pain and devastation that our families have experienced. The guardrails/ barriers will not bring our loved one back, however, they WILL save the life of another family's loved one,and that makes it all worth it. This is a preventable tragedy.

Please sign this petition to have guardrails/ barriers installed on the Summerlin Parkway. Our safety cannot be ignored any longer. Our voices together are strong and loud, and this time we will be heard. Thank you

I don't know why there isn't any barriers. People don't follow the law, so the state must put barriers on the roads. Dirt, rocks and trees aren't going to stop a drunk driver from crossing over. Put the barriers up

a simple barrier would have prevented this death and many more. all this money spent on beautification around the valley roads and there was no barrier for summerlin parkway.. it makes me sick to my stomach!!

no more families should suffer tradgedy and grief in thier lives for the loss of someone they love. i miss my step son,he had a bright and fruitful future. had a guard rail or some other form of barrier been in place on summerlin parkway, jason mcnelis would still be here to watch his sons grow up...

When my husband and I visited Vegas we vividly recall traveling on the Summerlin Parkway and commenting on how dangerous the road is. Simple barriers do not prevent crossovers and it's clear guardrails are needed to make that road a more safe place to travel. It needs to be done before more lives are lost!

I am a native Las Vegan and I have very much enjoyed to beauty of the Summerlin Parkway, however after witnessing the aftermath of the latest accident... I think we should consider putting in some form of protection between West bound and East bound traffic in order to not loose another life as in this accident. Thank you.
