The average student goes to school for around 7 hours a day. The national sleep association recommends that teenagers get 8.5-9.5 hours of sleep. If a child attends school and gets the recommended amount of sleep they are only left with 7.5-8.5 hours of free time. In that free time the students may participate in sports, work, go to the gym, study, and do class projects. Students don't have time to do 1 or 2 hours of homework each night. This petition is here to bring to light the issue of homework cutting into all students' free time. Each signature on this petition is a person agreeing that homework massively cuts into a students "free time" and that we should put an end to homework.
