The SFA say investment in youth football is crucial to the future success of the game in Scotland...............of course we know money is tight, however with over 430 participants and 75 volunteer coaches involved in Blantyre Soccer Academy alone let alone other sports clubs that could make use of the facility if properly constructed i.e. Rugby, running etc. the 'savings' in terms of Crime Reduction, Health Benefits, reduced bills for NHS etc etc etc, it's more than a worthwhile investment.

We have children both boys and girls with age groups from 3 years to 19 years of age also an adult amateur team and an over 35’s team taking our total of members to 430 . We also are a Full Disability Club and provide a full player pathway. WE ARE A REAL COMMUNITY CLUB, "Building a Better Blantyre, One Person at a Time"

Blantyre Soccer Academy has over 400 kids and they all have to travel to different parts of Hamilton to play football and train as there is no facilities in Blantyre. Hamilton has 3 Astro facilities, Blantyre has zero.

Feel our area would gain a lot from having 3G pitches growing up we had a couple of old AstroTurf pitches but they were only 5 aside, if Blantyre got 11 aside 1s they would make there money renting them out no problem as there's plenty teams in Blantyre need facilities for training and games

Blantyre has been overlooked for too long with regards to decent sports facilities. There have been several ideal spots bizarrely utilised by the council recently for other ventures. Its time these pitches were built. If I or Blantyre Project, Blantyre Community Committee or Blantyre Telegraph can help in any way, please let me know. Full support offered.

As a coach in the area I know how much this area needs a facility like this. We have to travel to Hamilton to train twice a week. We have a soccer academy in Blantyre but no 3G/4G pitch.

If you can give me one reason why our kids should have to travel out with our area to stay fit and healthy give us it
