Yorkshire Water are currently in the process of selling off the land commonly known as Callis, also known as Callis Community Gardens to a private individual who would seek to exclude the wider community from using the land. Over the course of the last 28 years the land at Callis has been freely available for community use such as gardening, weddings, community events, seasonal celebrations, fires, workshops and is one of the few remaining places that encourages a permaculture approach to sustainable living in Hebden Bridge. We the undersigned object to the private sale of Callis Community Gardens by Yorkshire Water and wish to retain it as common land for the benefit of the local community in perpetuity.
