| 251 | thomas warner | The transfer is a necessary part of the Septa
fare structure for those people who are part-time or
occasional users. Its elimination is a disservice to the riding public. Septa as a whole has not looked
sufficiently at other fiscal conservation measures.
For example, I often see Septa buses stopped and idling for no apparent reason , even at times when there would be no need for air conditioning .
To what extent has this apparent waste of fuel been
investigated? |
| 252 | Timothy Brough | please KEEP the transfer |
| 253 | Edmund Weisberg | |
| 254 | Jennifer Reed | |
| 255 | Elizabeth Goetz-Spitko | This only hurts the people who rely on Septa the most and don't have the money to pay more!! |
| 256 | Harriet Lessy | |
| 257 | Doris Fanelli | |
| 258 | Olga Cohen | Do your research Septa and follow the examples of Chicago,Boston and New York. We are not morons. |
| 259 | Katie Idell | Please save our transfers! |
| 260 | Eunice Hill | I think that Septa has to think about school kids and low income families that are have problems making ends meet now. Please reconsider this decision |

| 262 | Anonymous | As a avid fan of public transportation, I urge Septa to keep costs as low as possible per trip. It simply makes no sense to penalize those who need more than one leg of the system more than those who are fortunate to travel on direct routes. |
| 263 | L. Haskins | I was informed of this "elimination of the transfers" just last week, but I truly hope that this is no true. I am a Job Developer and it is almost impossible for some of my clients to find work within the city. No one should have to explain to the SEPTA Board that they are wrong, to snatch away the only transportation help others depend on. If this is passed, then it will be clear to all that the SEPTA Board do not care about the dedicated riders who have kept SEPTA afloat all these years. It is the dedicated riders not the SEPTA Board who is keeping SEPTA GOING! |
| 264 | Janet Summers | Eliminating transfers will create an incredible hardship for those on limited incomes (who are most likely to use public transportation). Also, public transportation is one of the main supports of our educational system, and this decision will have wide-ranging ramifications for our students. |

| 270 | Anonymous | Elimination of transfers raises the cost of Septa travel. Those working for very low wages will be pushed even further into poverty. This increase in their travel costs may eliminate their ability to afford to work -- leading to fewer employed in and around the city, fewer riders on Septa, and generally lowering the already tenuous state of Philadelphia's economy. |

| 272 | Naisha | Septa changes are ridicioulous. They went up on their prices and there service stinks!! |
| 273 | JAne Friedman | Low income people are already the ones dependent on sEPTA , you as lawmakers and SEPTA board should be protecting these peoples's interests, not making it harder for them to afford to get to and from work . |
| 274 | Denise | I do not support the elimination of transfers. Some of us have to use two or three buses just to get to work and back. Also, some of us are on fixed incomes and can not afford the cost of weekly or monthly transfers. This would cause a burden to our finances. And lastly, some of us do not work full -time and the use of a weekly and monthly transpass would not save us money. DO NOT ELIMINATE TRANSFERS. |
| 275 | Anonymous | Public transportation is very important to working people and to students. We must do everthing we can to encourge people not to drive but to utilize public transit. |
| 276 | Michele Mora | |
| 277 | chyrese stewart | I am a septa rider and I am against having to pay carefare or use several tokens if I have to take more than one transit. I can not affford to buy monthly or weekly transpasses. |

| 279 | Kim Mapp | SEPTA needs to stop playing. I'm not a SEPTA rider but I think it's unfair for students and people with limited income who rely on SEPTA's service. |
| 280 | Karen Escovitz | It is time to modernize and streamline Septa's fare system... but NOT by passing the cost on to those most dependent and least equipped to shoulder the burden. |
| 281 | Lorraine Matijkiw | As president of Central High School Home and SChool Association, I am deeply troubled by this step backwards for our students and city. It is unjust to ignore the needs of families and the school district who are working in earnest to educate our youth. The district has increased the number of magnet and special admit high schools students can apply to, and students rely on SEPTA to travel to school.
With the number of shootings and homicides this city has experienced, parents worry enough about the safey of their children traveling across the city to get the most appropriate education. Now parents will be faced with paying 200-300% more for public transportation. Additioonally, attendance could be negatively impacted if families are low on funds and cannot afford bus fare.
Please do not allow our city be so narrow minded as to think this is progress and diregard the needs of our citizens, especially our youth.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Matijkiw
President
Central High School Home and School Association

| 283 | Nancy Lightcap | How many times must the individual who occassionally must catch a bus and/or some time of connection (EL, SUBWAY, BUS, TROLLEY) be screwed because of Septa and the Boards narrow mentality? The paper transfer is a necessity for all of us who use Septa and do not necessarily NEED TO PAY TWO FARES OR BUY A TRANSPASS! Wake up people you serve the people of the entire State not just your own "territories"!!! |
| 284 | Marian Page | |
| 285 | Elizabeth Sauer | Free transfers are essential to the workings of our public transportation, esp. for low wage workers, as well as to reduce the use of private vehicles in the city, causing congestion and green house gases. |
| 286 | Anonymous | Save the Septa Transfers. |
| 287 | Karen Schwartz | We need to do everything possible to encourage mass transit. People depend on this for their livelihood, not to mention that it is better for the environment to travel on public transit.
You'll encourage mass exodus, not mass transit by eliminating the transfers and affordability. |
| 288 | Felix Davis Jr | |
| 289 | Carolyn Pastore | Please don't do this. I have individuals with disabilities who only get entry level jobs and do not have money to travel. Now that minimum wage increased employers want more skilled individuals and again they are past over. |

| 293 | Celestine Maddox | I think it is ridiculous for this co. to try and get rid of transfers, they have been apart of the transit system since it was enacted. Please reverse your decision. Every customer of Septa's cannot afford to pay everytime they take several buses to get to their destination. |
| 294 | Scott Spencer | Keep the system until you develop an electronic fare system |
| 295 | William A. Holt | The decision made by the Septa Board to eliminate transfers places another financialburden on people with disabilities. Many of these individuals are already faced with increases in their housing, food & medical expenses, but this decision has a dramatic impact on their ability in access healthcare on a regular basis as a result in the increase in transportation costs. Septa is the major source of transportation with many individuals who have disabilities & to impose this decision will impact on their lives & ability to take advantage of the many opportunities (work & play) in our community. |
| 296 | Mary Greenway | I work in a Philadelhia public high school
Last year's increase of $1.00 created a burdan for many families. Some of my students travel on a bus, el and subway one way to get to school. Their costs would rise from $2. per trip to $6.!. |
| 297 | Philip Montoni | I think iy is an ridiculous idea to eliminate paper transfers. There are thousands of people who take 3 different busses to work each day. The elimination of transfers would almost double the cost of their daily commute from $6.20 to $12.00. I think this totally unfair that the riding public should have to bear the brunt of years of mismanagement. |
| 298 | Tamar Magdovitz | Students who are taking two or three busses each way to school are going to be unfairly penalized by this decision. Please do not make it any harder than it already is for so many of our children to get to school every day in a timely, safe and responsible fashion! |
