H.J.CainPublic Transportation will become more important as gas prices climb.
Taxi Workers Alliance of PennsylvaniaWe the taxi workers of Phila. fully support guarantee funding for our brothers and sisters employed with SEPTA. We are asking lawmakers to do the right thing for the working class poor who depend on our transit system to get to work.

Linda KrigerMass transit is the lifeblood of any urban area. Philadelphia is no exception. Please do not make it harder or impossible for working people to take a bus to get to work.
eric andesonI find it desgracefull that lawmakers have been unable to come through and solve this issue. Maybe a bite in you pocketbook is what it will take.

Augustine H. ZawaskiWith utilities and gas prices soaring my money barely pays the bills. Now, with an increase in fares with Septa (I am Zone 4 at $39.50 per week), how can I expect to survive in Philadelphia.

Allen ZakladPlease provide SEPTA with adequate funding. it is the centerpiece of a healthy economy in philadelphia. thanks.
Adena PotokPublic servants are just that: those that are in position to serve the public. The best way to serve is by example. To be paid from the public coffers and then to get a free ride - literally - on public transportation is over the top!
Emmanuel BesaInstead of cutting down services, our state needs to be expanding services to cut down fuel costs and keep our environment green.

Niel McDowellThe neglect of transit funding in Pennsylvania is appalling. We need dedicated, stable funding for mass transit immediately.

Anonymousthis is unbelieveable that once again SEPTA fares are increasing but the quality of service is still horrible. When will this end.
Steve NewmanDear State Representatives and Senators, Please show some wisdom and foresight--public transit is the lifeblood not only of the Philadelphia economy (which helps to fill the state's coffers) but the state as a whole. Sincerely, Steve Newman, Ph.D.

Roby JacobsCCT connect is important to my residents at the retirement community Stapely in Germantown. I myself am a commuter from Center City-using busses and the R8-already inconveniently cut back . More cuts are terrible. Increased fares a disaster!
Geraldine GriffinDeal with the problem now. If this increase happens it will hurt everyone.

Mary GreenwayI am a daily user of busses #26 and 23, a frequent user of the Broad Street subway and Regional line R8. I am also a counselor at a Philadelphia public school. Affordable, accessable public transportation is vital to the life of a big city. Philadelphia will be harmed if it doesn't provide both. Students will be stressed financially. The increase in the cost of school tokens prooved to be a financial burden for many of the students I with whom I work. With the elimination of transfers, in particular, the doubling of cost to these and other students will be devastating. I urge the leaders of both the city and state to fully fund SEPTA.
Michael BuglakWe in Western Montgomery County also desparately need action on the long, long, long stalled Schuylkill Valley Metro project. US 422 is at near-gridlock from 5am-9am & again from 3pm-7pm between Collegeville & King of Prussia. I am forced to travel all the way to North Wales for semi-reliable commuter rail service to Philadelphia, as the service from Norristown is not reliable. Southern California was able to get a brand-new commuter rail service (MetroLink) up & running in 90 days following the 1994 earthquake. Why have we let our once far-superior rail network wither away for the last 30 years??
daryn edwardsPlease provide the monetary support for public transportation, this benefits all Pennsylvanians!

Katherine L YaksickI take BOTH Bus and Elevated Train TO and FROM work SIX days a week. (I work as much overtime as I can get since Philadelphia has a high cost of living.) I cannot drive due to a eye/hand coordination problem which probably was present from birth. SO I NEED RELIABLE AND TIMELY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.
Sarah LevetterThis is incredible! 25.00 for a transpass is a bit much, especially if they are cutting back service as well. It takes me an hour to get to work as it is!!!
AnonymousIt's been a long enough wait for legislators to establish dedicated funding for mass transit.
Elaine Griffin
Marjorie GreenfieldPublic transit, including SEPTA, needs full funding to increase service, not strangle it as is now the case. A strong SEPTA reduces the use of cars, i.e., pollution, makes our City truly livable for everyone and will make us attractive to new employers. The time is now. Fund public transit and start paying your own way on public transit and on the road.

AnonymousThis fare hike is so unfair. If SEPTA wants to keep it's passengers, do something to stop this now.
Jennie Shankerhow are we supposed to work? you must fund transit.
Kathleen Riordan
Patrick HauckStop taking a free ride! I am a paying customer and you should be too. Everyone needs to work together to make public transit work. If you don't feel the effects, how will you ever make effective change?
