Name: Roby Jacobs on May 29, 2007Comments: CCT connect is important to my residents at the retirement community Stapely in Germantown. I myself am a commuter from Center City-using busses and the R8-already inconveniently cut back . More cuts are terrible. Increased fares a disaster!Flag

Name: Mary Greenway on May 29, 2007Comments: I am a daily user of busses #26 and 23, a frequent user of the Broad Street subway and Regional line R8. I am also a counselor at a Philadelphia public school. Affordable, accessable public transportation is vital to the life of a big city. Philadelphia will be harmed if it doesn't provide both. Students will be stressed financially. The increase in the cost of school tokens prooved to be a financial burden for many of the students I with whom I work. With the elimination of transfers, in particular, the doubling of cost to these and other students will be devastating. I urge the leaders of both the city and state to fully fund SEPTA.Flag

Name: Michael Buglak on May 29, 2007Comments: We in Western Montgomery County also desparately need action on the long, long, long stalled Schuylkill Valley Metro project. US 422 is at near-gridlock from 5am-9am & again from 3pm-7pm between Collegeville & King of Prussia. I am forced to travel all the way to North Wales for semi-reliable commuter rail service to Philadelphia, as the service from Norristown is not reliable. Southern California was able to get a brand-new commuter rail service (MetroLink) up & running in 90 days following the 1994 earthquake. Why have we let our once far-superior rail network wither away for the last 30 yearsFlag

Name: Katherine L Yaksick on May 29, 2007Comments: I take BOTH Bus and Elevated Train TO and FROM work SIX days a week. (I work as much overtime as I can get since Philadelphia has a high cost of living.) I cannot drive due to a eye/hand coordination problem which probably was present from birth. SO I NEED RELIABLE AND TIMELY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.Flag

Name: Marjorie Greenfield on May 29, 2007Comments: Public transit, including SEPTA, needs full funding to increase service, not strangle it as is now the case. A strong SEPTA reduces the use of cars, i.e., pollution, makes our City truly livable for everyone and will make us attractive to new employers. The time is now. Fund public transit and start paying your own way on public transit and on the road.Flag
