At Nova Southeastern University, very few are databases are available to distance alumni users,due to database vendor licensing restrictions.

Additionally, not many databases have an SLP focus - with only 1 being potentially useful.

Upon graduating, NSU offered to support us in our endeavors into real world practice. This seems like a great opportunity for them!

It's worth mentioning that many more databases are available to local users in the library building. Since tuition was the same for all students (with the exception of higher ancillary fees for distance students), it is difficult to understand why local students should have access to benefits that distance students do not.

After discussing this with the school, they responded by saying;

"Alumni access to more databases is a request we hear every now and then. I am forwarding your comments to the Director of Collection Development and the library administration. Perhaps the issue can be revisited when contracts are re-negotiated."
