Name: Juliana Southwick on Feb 25, 2004State: UTCountry: USComments: I am signing this petition because African Americans should, unquestionably, have the right to vote. I do not, however, think that it is necessary to have this petition because it would be illogical for the U.S. government to repeal this right. If, hypothetically, they did repeal this right, it would do serious damage to this country, in fact, it would destroy it. Riots would break out in every city in the nation, international allies would be afraid to deal with us, let alone come to our aid, tourism would die out compleatly due to mass rioting, successfully toppeling our economy, and, in short, this nation would be thrown into a state of utter chaos. I may have serious problems with our government, but you have to understand that even though most polititions are less than honest, they are also well educated and know what repealing this right would do. In short, they want to keep the nation from descending into chaos because where would they be then Out of work. You think the riots in L.A. caused by the beating of Rodney King by police, and what followed, was chaos I am talking nation wide, every city would be in full on guerrilla war, urban style. All the hate groups would mobalize, deciding that the race war they all have been waiting for had begun and it would be the bloodiest war this nation has ever seen. Our entire system would topple to the ground like a house of cards swatted at by a three year old. There is zero chance that the right of African Americans to vote will ever be repealed. Whatever else the leaders of this goveernment may be, they are certainly not that stupid.Flag
