Carol L. WareI was raised Methodist. Don't attend at present time. SMU should not be bullied into honoring this war monger.
Ben AtkinsonBethel UMC, Iva, S.C. Lay Speaker
Peggy WitsellI am Methodist.
Heather K. WareI do not support the museum and think tank being established at Southern Methodist University.
Nadine Ritter, DDSPast member of Methodist Church, a drifting soul but embraced by my faith. I am not lost.
Michael PhillipsNo church affiliations - my professional affiliation is that I am a history professor from Collin College in Plano, Texas. The Bush "think tank" is an attempt to spin history and Bush's executive order blocking historian's access to the documents from not just his administration but from the Reagan and Bush administration makes the library institute a farce.
Dr.
AnonymousI have no affiliation with a church but I live in Dallas, not far from SMU. I find it appalling that SMU would be home to a commemoration of an administration that has yet to answer for war crimes it has committed.
Janice UlangcaCalvary United Methodist Church, Vestal, NY Minister of Music It is imperative that we not allow the United Methodist name to promote the Bush legacy, regardless of scholarship. The integrity of our tradition is at stake.
AnonymousNon-denominational. I am an SMU alum and voice my objection to the Bush library etc. being located or affiliated with SMU.
AnonymousBaptist
MG RafteryI'm a United Methodist Church member in the San Carlos area of San Diego. Bush is a war criminal who led us to war based on lies, authorized torture and desecrated our constitution. He has no respect for human rights. Now we learn that his administration is selling access to the Vice President in a desperate effort to get donations to build a library in Bush's "honor."

Patricia PlummerProfessor Departments of Chemistry & Physics University of Missouri Columbia, MO I grew up in TX and attended TCU. I always had a great respect for SMU which would be greatly reduced by this association with Pres. Bush.
Sylvia M. SproulTrinity United Methodist Church in Lenoir City, TN 37772 After the deaths in the Iraq War both ours and theirs how can someone such as Bush be represented in a Christian and Methodist library?

Anne C. McAfeeAs someone who grew up in the '30s & '40s attending the Methodist Church in South Austin every Sunday morning and every Sunday night prayer meeting . . . as well as every Wednesday night prayer meeting, I think the two most important things I learned was a strong belief in the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you," and "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." George Bush has been the antithesis of these two basic principles of the Methodist Church. I join with thousands of Methodists from all over the country in urging the Jurisdictional Conference to reject the Bush plans to establish a library/think tank at SMU. ---Anne McAfee
Velma RouseFirst United Methodist Church Jesup, Iowa
Betty Jane FergusonFirst United Methodist Church of Richardson. I have been a Methodist, then a United Methodist for 48 years now and a member of many Methodist and United Methodist churches in Houston, Georgetown (Texas--while attending Southwestern University), Austin, Whittier (California), Dallas, Garland, and Richardson. I believe that our core religious beliefs should not be sacrificed and linked with the values George W. Bush has demonstrated to the world. I believe that there is no way SMU and the members of the United Methodist Church could participate in this project without ignoring, and by doing this, rejecting, our own religious beliefs.
Tom FergusonMethodist The corruption of this presidency has poisoned all that it has touched and has ruined the reputations of once ethical individuals. The intellectual reputation of SMU may never recover from affiliation with George Bush and his library.
Robert ScottChurch of the Savior-UCC ,Knoxville,Tennessee I grew up in the Methodist Church and I hope SMU is not associated in the future with the George Bush library. His legacy of war and legacy of capital punishment will be recognized in history as morally reprehensible.
Season KerrOf course there are more inspiring and more appropriate titles for a library.
Carolyn Bowen FrancisMember, Claremont United Methodist Church, Claremont, CA. As a former Perkins Seminary student, I am totally against establishing the George Bush library at SMU!
John and Mary Ann Watkins1963 engineering graduate of SMU and his wife, Mary Ann...both members of the United Methodist Church. We strongly feel that this project would be detrimental for this fine university. As an alumni, I would not recommend having the Bush library be attached to it. John Spurgeon Watkins
Robert Bartonordained elder in UMC- graduate of SMU (Perkins School of Theology)
AnonymousBaptist, and Christian appalled by this entire Bush administration
Laura Schulz BourneCentral United Methodist Church Asheville, NC
Lisa McGowenI do not want the George W. Bush library at SMU.
Craig ShireSince to many , many Americans Mr. Bush represents possibly THE worst president in US history , I find it highly offensive to even consider George W. Bush library, museum, and think tank being established at Southern Methodist University
Randall HoffScioto Ridge United Methodist Church, Hilliard, OH I do not believe that the UMC needs to promote the legacy of George W. Bush just because he claims membership in this denomination.
Mattie TolleyReturned Board of Global Ministries missionary. Presnt home church First United Methodist, Davis, OK. Do not mix church and state at SMU. Do not join the name of the Methodist Church with the corruption of the Bush administration, including questionable actions already associated with the library. Do not allow the far political right to have access and influence in the cirriculum of a Methodist university. The philosophy of the far political right and the core Methodist theological principles are diametrically opposed. What are SMU board members thinking? MONEY? Whom do we serve?
AnonymousMarshall University Alumnus Opposed to any type of honor of such a disgraceful president as G.W. Bush
John C. GoodwinLay member, GNJAC, Lay member of The United Methodist Church at Demarest, NJ. Retired staff member of The General Board of Global Ministries, NYC General Conference photographer: 1976 - 2008
Walter L. HaysUnited Methodist Minister (retired) Anchorage, Alaska
Marsha CareyUnited Methodist Lakewood Colorado
S BrownI went to SMU and live not far from there. For a president who has shown no respect for human life, taking away our rights, doesn't care about the environment ...started a war with lies and approved the use of torture.. I strongly opposed The glorify George W. Bush library, museum, and think tank being established at SMU. It is SO wrong for the university and SO negative for the city of Dallas and Texas! We will all have to move!
Jane WhiteGrace UMC - Sherman, TX
John WhiteGrace UMC - Sherman, TX It is total hypocrisy to allow this Library and think tank to go forward.
