Name: Molly Klein on Jan 18, 2010Comments: Public school employees have put in their share of contributions to the retirement system and now it is the state's and school district's turns to keep their promise and make their contributions. Vote to keep this system and not change it for teachers now or in the future.Flag

Name: Christine Zoccole on Jan 18, 2010Comments: As a school teacher and proud member of PSEA, I urge you tokeep the promise to PSERS by funding the system to keep it strong. Every 2 weeks I have paid a percentage ofmy salary into this system without question. Now the state must meet its obligations to keep the system solvent. Please resist misguided efforts to address the problem by reducing benefit levels for current and future employees. I'm asking you to vote against any proposal that undermines or changers PSEERS. Please fund the system and a secure future for the dedicate people who serve the children of Pennsylvania. Thank you.Flag

Name: Sandra W. Ludman on Jan 18, 2010Comments: My pension and Social Security are my sources of revenue.. I spent 34 years teaching in the public schools of this state, and I certainly am entitled to my pension. With medical costs rising, those sources of my income have been shrinking, and I don't want to experience any more losses.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 18, 2010Comments: Please do not disrupt pension funds. This will lead to a further downturn in the state's economy. The less money put into the hands of consumers, the less money being spent in the marketplace. It's simple economics. With all the "bailing out" we are doing to large corporations who spend money frivolously, why doesn't the middle class get "a bailout" versus being exploited once again?Flag

Name: Kyle Boswell on Jan 18, 2010Comments: Dear law makers, Please do not change PSERS. Clearly, educators do not take up our profession because of the countless riches it entails. As a relatively young couple with two children my wife and I (we both teach) have tremendous difficulties paying for our mortgage, car payments, school loans, and day care. The one thing we have to look forward to is a faint light at the end of the tunnel--the reassurance that our difficulty in staying afloat now will eventually be assuaged by a strong and safe future. By changing PSERS, that faint light will undoubtedly disappear, thereby making it not only difficult in the years to come, but also for our offspring to afford a higher education. Changing PSERS hurts everyone. Please do not come after our future--our retirement fund.Flag
