Name: Destinee Logan on Jan 16, 2010Comments: Hello, I am writing to request that you vote to keep the status quo for the PSERS pension fund. Changing this plan would be detrimental to current and future educators. This would drive out some of the best and brightest educators thus negatively effecting our students. I hope that you will make the decision to show educators your support for all that we do for children.Flag

Name: Edward L.Buckvitz, Jr. on Jan 16, 2010Comments: Please be adivsed that i am requsting that you maintain the legislature's promise to the teachers of our state. Keep the PSERS formula for our pensions. the defined benefit system is the only method which is fiar to out retirees and also those who are currently active in the profession. Changing the formula would be of detriment to present retirees as well as those who are presently working. Do not jeopardize the teachers of this state for something which school districts of this state had been allowed to do - not meet their responsibility of maintaining their portion of contributions to the PSERS funds. thank you.Flag

Name: Janie Hecker on Jan 16, 2010Comments: Please keep our defined benefit retirement system strong. As a state, we must invest in the best quality education for our children. To do that, we must have the most qualified teachers. A solid retirement benefit plan not only rewards the efforts of those currently in service but will attract the best new teachers. As a 36+ year teacher/administrator, I ask that you keep the promise for the retirement I have paid into my entire career.Flag

Name: Jessica McMenamin on Jan 16, 2010Comments: Please do not change the defined benefit pension plan. I am a retired member who contirbuted my fair amount during my active 33 years of service. Unfortunately, during the boom of the market, the school districts did not contribute their fair share. After the October 2008- May 2009 time, and the decline of the market, the balance of this account has seriously declined.Flag

We have held onto our part of the bagain by contributing 7.5% of our salary toward the pension. It is time for the state to live up to their part of the bargain. A change would be detrimental to the futrue of the system.Flag
