Name: Marilyn Kaminski on Dec 19, 2008Comments: I strongly support the prohibition of open burning on Cook County forest preserve sites. The negative aspects regarding the wild life and natural surroundings by far out weigh the need for burning in areas that are enjoyed by the public. And that should be your main concern. We are talking about small pockets of land areas not major acreage. This is "residential" not "rural",where this is done.Flag

Name: Fran Pelly on Mar 2, 2009Comments: This type of behavior is a travesty on our land and killing trees should be ILLEGAL in any state or county. There are prairies in private areas of Lake County and that is by personal choice. The entire state is NOT a prairie and the practice of spreading herbacides and dangerous chemicals should be an offence punishable by imprisonment!Flag

Name: Tanja M. on Aug 10, 2009Comments: Clearly, this act of "restoration" will conveniently lead to the development of condominiums and other real estate. It seems that the key decision makers are ultimately more concerned with the revenues that will be generated in their pockets versus the price to be paid by the lives of the wildlife that are "removed."Flag
