public land and the thought that they can burn down areas and cut down trees should be illegal. They have no idea of what they are doing. We need trees for shade and to hold down the earth, we do not need open prairies. There are a few open prairies on private property and if they want that then buy up some propery and start building a prairie. There is one area in Lake Forest, IL. that I know of on private property, but I hope this will eventually go to President Obama and that he will
stop it as an illegal act!!!!! |

We are very fortunate to enjoy living so close to the parks and forest preserves. At this point in time, it is difficult for me to trust the decision making ability of the city and county administrators, including issues regarding the restoration movement. |

| 225 | Howard and Paula Serlin | We have live near the Bunker Hill Forest Preserves for over 40 years. It is a wonderful area with beautiful trees that are now at grave risk. Will those planning to burn them down in the name of restoring the land to prairie status stop there or will they next turn their attention to burning crops in productive farmland and converting that back to prairies as well? They must have better things to do with their funds, which are so hard to come by during these times of greater need in our communities. One such effort might be to build fieldhouses where school children can learn more about nature and the value of trees. The tree burners might better be used to clean out dead trees and debris, including old tires, trash etc. |

Biking, hiking, or just strolling through the Forest Preserves and enjoying the beauty of the trees are a treasure that we citizens should not be deprived of.
Whoever made this decision certainly did not take the opinions of citizens into consideration. I think this is an outrage!

The negative aspects regarding the wild life and natural surroundings by far out weigh the need for burning in areas that are enjoyed by the public. And that should be your main concern. We are talking about small pockets of land areas not major acreage. This is "residential" not "rural",where this is done. |

| 245 | milovan niketic | The woods and nature forest are lungs of our community. We have to save them in this urban life to protect out community and stay healthy! The wild life in our forest is the assent in our neighborhood and kids enjoy them! |

| 249 | Catherine Lesner | This is another opportunity for real estate developers to find open/vacant land to build condos. Leave Mother Nature alone! |
| 250 | Michele | Please stop the unnecessary removal of trees and wildlife in our backyard. We like it the way it is. This is unnecessary and unwanted and unhealthy and expensive |
