Comments: I agree with this petition, there is too many loopholes and not enough cover to protect the buyer. Even people who represent you are involved in scams etc.

Comments: The house buying procedure is not safe or watertight for foreigners. It is open to fraud and corruption in a big scale.

Comments: When people buy a property they expect reliable, honest, trustworthy agents to represent them-this is sorely lacking from start to finish in the buying process in Turkey. The two tier pricing system with Foreign buyers being made to pay far more for properties and legalities must stop. Turkey has a lot to offer and would encourage a lot more buyers from overseas if they treated investors fairly

Comments: The buying procedure needs to be regulated and uniform. It is open to corruption by Emlaks and builders. People need to be assured that they can buy property in Turkey and not be ripped off.

Comments: You can`t trust the lawyers, you can`t trust the emlaks, and all the rest associated with buying & selling appear to be dishonest. Once you get over that then the rest try and rip you off with any type of other work. When you try and get help they rip you off again. One gets the impression the authorities do not care in fact its easy to think theyare part of it.

Comments: A beautiful country but unfortunately corrupt when it comes to building/buying/selling homes by a huge majority of emlaks, builders and solicitors. I am sick of hearing about the problems foreigners are having. There seems to be little or no justice and certainly no real help. It is time something was done to regulate this industry and the legal system.

Comments: We have been waiting for neally 5 years for our tapu, have applied for milatary permission 3 times as errors have been in it. We have to pay builders outstanding taxes to council to clear depts to be able to pay concil tax and have been riped off by emlak.who has taken our deeds tax and dispeared. we need rules, and procedures that are law and folled up by the courts when broken. (we did use a solicotor) and we are need somewhere to apply to for help and to prococute these people.

Comments: The buying process in Turkey is very dangerous for foreign buyers. It needs overhauling by the government. Its like the Wild west. If you do not get robbed its by sheer good fortune. The government of Turkey could get a lot of foreign currency if they protected the buyers with SOLID legislation

Only the Government can decide if they want foreignors on equal rights with their fellow countrymen or not.

Comments: I agree, the buying process should be regulated and transparent and the rife corruption that exists should be stamped out where it begins, with the sellers! Foriegn buyers are unwittingly made accomplices to tax fraud and other illegalities then left to foot the bill. It is time that the Turkish government woke up to the fact that Turkey is gaining a very bad reputation among foriegn investors.
